Owned by the same owner of the former LIC spot 1063, Champion Coffee is the latest Uptown Greenpoint coffee shop. But don't come a lookin' for any brewed coffees, 'cause they only work the espresso machine, and it's pretty decent. They have a garden which I haven't been in (because I only stop by on my way to work) but I've heard is nice. The counterstaff are very very nice, much nicer than at the Ash Box up the street.
They really don't have a kitchen at all but will heat things up in a toaster oven (menu specifies some items will take 15 minutes to prepare, I assume b/c of their limited-heat-appliance capabilities). They have assorted pastries and muffins which are definitely not made on site and are generally over-priced ($2.25 for a muffin) and too sweet. Ash Box has far better baked goods.
Single americano is $1.75, double is $2.25.
I used to think the chalk-board of daily quotes outside was pretentious and silly, but it's grown on me.
Open 7-7 daily.
